Morning Flight

Isa.  40:28-31  "Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they  shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the  sun]; they shall  run not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired."

These verses start off telling  Israel who their God is. They should have already heard and know these things about Him from their earhly father (Deu. 6:4-9). God is not like human flesh, He is the the  Creator of all, He is from everlasting to everlasting. He doesn't faint or get  tired and His understanding is past our understanding. Only He can make us understand who He is, that's another reason we need His Word.  His Word alone can  give power to the faint and weary, strength to those without it, causing both to abound and multiply. All flesh faints and grows weary, stumbling and falling exhausted by life, even the young. But those who wait for the Lord, put their hope and expectancy in Him, looking for Him shall change (Deu. 4:29). They shall  change, their strength and power is renewed [His mercies are new every morning].  Then they can lift up their wings and mount up close to God. Wings means pinion and comes from the Hebrew word meaning to soar and fly. Ps. 139:9 talks about  the 'wings of the morning', so mornings have wings. This is the time to soar and fly to where God is, close to Him. Then because our strength is renewed for the rest of our day we can run and not be weary and walk and not faint and get tired. Just as Elijah ran in the strength of the Lord past human ability in I Kings 18:46. This life and all it's trial and  tribulations can't weary us and cause us to faint by the wayside. We will be  like calves released from confinement who run and leap for joy in their freedom.  Isa. 40:31 say '
we lift up our wings and mount up close to God as eagles mount up to  the sun.'  Mal. 4:2 says "But unto you who revere and  worshipfully fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings and His beams, and you shall go forth and gambol like calves [released] from the stall and leap for joy." As we arise, mount up, towards  the Son of Righteousness, He arises also. He comes to us with healing and release and joy. I can see us both soaring in the heavens high up circling each other for the joy of being together. This is a dance of love and pure joy in the being together. I am not spent and wearied by it, I am renewed, healed, and strengthened by it! Let's see a wooden or stone idol do that! Let's see all that man has lifted up as their gods do that! If I'm weary, faint, strengthless,  joyless, and bound up, then I haven't been mounting up on the wings of the morning waiting, expecting, looking for and hoping in Him!
